Driver, two bystanders injured following late-race crash at Hidden Valley Speedway

A late-race crash at Hidden Valley Speedway Saturday night, led to three people, including two bystanders, being hospitalized.

Speedway officials say that in the closing laps of Saturday's "Street Stock" event, a battle for position led to one of the drivers, identified as Raymond Reynolds, losing control and crashing into a utility pole in the infield.

Track officials say photographer Kinser Mayhew, and his father, Kenny Mayhew, the flagman, were also injured.

Reynolds was transported to Penn Highlands Clearfield and has since been released, speedway staff confirmed.

Officials say Kenny Mayhew was flown to UPMC Altoona and his family confirmed that he suffered a fractured back, broken ribs, fluid in his lungs and an injured hand, which he had surgery on Sunday morning.

His son, Kinser Mayhew, has since been released from the hospital and suffered a broken collarbone, track officials noted.

Speedway officials say that they will continue to update the community on Mayhew's condition.
