PSU student admitted to having child porn during polygraph test for internship: Police

University police say a former Penn State student is facing child pornography charges.

According to a criminal complaint, the Federal Bureau of Investigation served a search warrant June 4, 2020 at Atherton Hall, a dormitory-style residency hall on the Penn State University campus.

Authorities say the investigation involved now 21-year-old Terry Faber although he was not living at the dorm at the time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Penn State had closed all residence hall locations in March of 2020.

Investigators say they seized numerous USB drives and other electronic storage devices.

Police say the devices contained multiple files depicting child pornography.

They say they began investigating Faber after he underwent a polygraph test as part of an internship with a federal agency.

They say Faber admitted during the test that he had searched and downloaded child porn from the dark web.
